Thanks Jerry. You can freely share anything from this blog. I am working on my Doctor of Ministry through Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. This blog is part of my thesis. I was required to be on campus for two weeks at a time in 2004, 2005 and 2006. I plan to graduate in May of 2009.

Jerry, there are many fine online programs out there. Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN is a good one. I received my M.Div from there way back in 1985.

Take care and thank you for your comments

Thanks for your study and insights. May I share some of the information from your blog as I prepare a message on scripture meditation?
Thanks and Gods blessings as you continue your DMin work.
Jerry Davis
BTW are you doing this work through online study for the most part?
Just curious. I had completed a B.A. in Bible and Religious Education years ago and have always wanted to complete an M.Div or DMin program.

I'm not a pastor, but as one who's been intimately involved in church life I've observed how the hectic 21st century paradigm of ministry takes it's toll on pastors. Unfortunately, "ungodly haste and unrest" seems to be the norm.

In my own life I've discovered the benefits of memorization and meditation only in the last couple of years. I wish I would have started sooner! I heard a pastor say recently that we should approach the Bible with the intention of "letting the Scriptures read us" instead of "us reading the Scriptures."
