I continue to read through Dietrich Bonhoeffer Works: Volume 16: Conspiracy and Imprisonment: 1940-1945.Two reports about the deportation of Jews from Berlin were written by Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Friedrich Justus Perels

Over the course of the week of October 5-12 (1941), a number of Jewish families, who for the most part lived in Aryan houses, received a letter from the Jewish Community that their apartment “was scheduled to be vacated.” They were quickly informed that they were not allowed to look for a new apartment, and they were given gift lists on which they were required to indicate their entire stock of furniture and clothing–except for “bare necessities”–and, apparently, their back balances as well. An additional number of these letters was sent out again until October 18. Exact numbers are not known at this point. Persons of all ages are affected, even those who for months have been mobilized to work.
