The “Putsch” Against Hitler Failed on July 20, 1944

On July 20, 1944, the assassination attempt by Claus Graf Schenk von Stauffenberg against Adolf Hitler failed. This was known as the Putsch. The word means an sudden overthrow of the government by a group of people.

This failed attempt would help decide the fate of the prisoner Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
